From the Editor : The Nature Parenting Edition
Hey Mums and Dads!
After a rather long hiatus.. the Pitter Patter newsletter is back and better than ever! First thing’s first.. we believe it is not too late to wish you a Happy New Year and by that we mean the new one on the Gregorian Calendar (2015!) and the one on the Lunar Calendar (the year of the goat!).
If you have set out to achieve some new goals or embark on new adventures and push yourself to the limit this year.. well .. its March, so we hope that you are still on track with these aspirations!
If one of your targets is to try new things in your parenting adventures.. then this is the perfect edition for you! In this issue, we will be talking about parenting and nature! First we look at how you can eliminate your children’s nature deficit disorder and get them to play tag outside, instead of just doing so on their tablets and smartphones. Of course, playing outdoors come hand in hand with a good diet.. so we also have some amazing tips on how you can get your kids to become natural healthy eaters!
While we are on the topic of health, our own Dr Khoo Boo Aik discusses some of the medical benefits of outdoor play, in case you are still not convinced that it is good for you and your kids and finally, no discussion on positive parenting could be complete without discipline. So in this issue, we also touch on the do’s and don’ts of inculcating discipline in your children.
Well.. we hope that you will have an informative and enjoyable read. Do look out for more interesting articles and activities on our on our website and our Facebook page. Till then, stay focused and good luck with your new year ambitions!
Love,
Your Pitter Patter Editor
