Tis the season to be jolly and super-busy… Fa la la la la la la la la
Christmas is a time of goodwill and good cheer throughout most of the world, including in tropical country like Malaysia! Some of us are busy with shopping for the perfect gift for our loves ones, little ones, dearest friends and family members.
Not all but some may not be able to enjoy the luxury of the usual gift-giving and festive meals that we indulge in.
Luckily, we do have folks who are blessed and care about those who are not as fortunate. They swing into action with the help of local churches/community service, NGOs and volunteers in joint effort to spread some cheer and goodwill to those who would otherwise miss out. They organize the collection of goods and donations and set up the wishing trees to ensure some children from orphanage home gets a Christmas gift. I was touched to read one of the wishing card from an orphan whose wish is to have a pair of new shoe this Christmas!
As parents, it is important to instill the spirit of sharing and caring in the children even when they are young. I knew some parents who got together, make time despite their busy schedule to shop and wrap gifts, bake Christmas cookies and bring the family for a visit to orphanage home, refugee centers and old folk’s home with their children. To all these generous-spirited and compassionate parents, I am sure your children are indeed blessed and that they will follow your footstep in sharing with the needy.
Most of us are busy making plans for the coming festive season and year end count down, some is travelling where as others is relaxing at home. Whatever you choose to do, Pitter Patter hope you have a good time reconnecting with yourself, your family and friends to celebrate the holiday season.
